Beyond the eastern edge of Mossflower, there are no trees, no flowers, no rivers. There is only a dark, rocky ground that spans for miles. At the edge of this wasteland, there are the Mountains of Hellgates, which are rumoured to mark the edge of the world. A red sun glows somewhere in the distance, spreading light and heat in this horrid land.

| Blackblood Castle
When the creatures first felt the sun, a great wildcat lord built a fortress on the ocean shore, west of the Lands of Ice and Snow. Countless battles were fought here, and the walls are stained with darkened blood. The wildcat and his brethren abandoned it sometime before the Code of Salamandastron was set down, moving to the cold, desolate lands in the east.
